El Confital sits on the far side of La Isleta, right where Las Canteras stops being an urban beach. There is no promenade here, no terraces, no sunbeds: there is volcanic rock, pools that fill with the tide, coarse sand and one of the most respected right-hand waves in Europe. You walk here from the city, and the city vanishes entirely once you round the point.

- Vehicle access is restricted: plan on walking
- Closed shoes: the ground is uneven rock with no comfortable stretch
- Bring water and food: there are no facilities anywhere in the area
The sea here
- No lifeguards and no marked areas: swimming is at your own risk
- With a swell the wave breaks hard over rock, and it is no place to swim
- With a calm sea, the pools between the rocks are the best of the place
- Protected area inside the La Isleta landscape: everything you bring, you take back
Good to know · From April to August the sun sets into the water from here; in winter it drops behind land and the place loses half its point.
