From July 7 to 14, 2024, Gran Canaria hosted Milan Camp 2024, an event for children ages 6 to 16 at the El Tablero Sports Center in Maspalomas. On the field, coaching them were well-known figures such as Cristian Brocchi, Fabio Prina, Jonathan Watanabe, and Filippo Parodi.
We at Oceanworking supported the Camp as a sponsor. But rather than just putting our logo on the event, we wanted to be truly present: to bring our way of working to a week filled with sports, connection, and relationships.

A special live broadcast from our Team Lab
We made our Team Lab available to broadcast a special live episode, hosted by Mikelangelo from Radio Calima.
Taking turns at the microphones were Cristian Brocchi, Erika Cassia from our team, and other sponsors: different voices, gathered in the same place, to cover the event as it unfolded.
A Custom PWA to Experience the Event in Real Time
To support the Camp, we created a PWA—a progressive web app built using no-code technology—designed to manage information, photos, videos, and interviews in real time.
It worked like a native app, but without the need to download anything—all you had to do was open it. Families and kids could follow and share moments from the Camp directly on WhatsApp and Telegram, without downloading anything and without any technical barriers.
The Impact on Children and Families
For the children and their families, training alongside figures from the world of AC Milan was an extraordinary experience. It generated energy, anticipation, and enthusiasm—the things that last.
For us at Oceanworking, the value of in-person encounters and human connection is central. The technology we provide serves to amplify those moments, not replace them.
Lightweight technology, close to people
A PWA like this eliminates friction: no app stores, no installations, no unnecessary steps. Anyone who wants to participate can do so right away.
In our projects, we’ve seen how this lightweight approach can reduce time and costs compared to traditional apps—in some cases by up to 75%. This isn’t just a sales pitch: it’s what we observe when technology remains simple and serves people.
What We Take Away
Milan Camp 2024 reminded us why we chose Gran Canaria—and the Canary Islands more broadly—as Oceanworking’s home: a place where work, community, and well-being can all coexist in a single day.
We’ll continue to support experiences like this by providing spaces, tools, and our presence. If you have a project, an event, or an idea you’d like to bring to life in Gran Canaria, write to us: we love building these things together.
