On the east coast of Gran Canaria, near La Garita beach, El Bufadero is a rock formation where the waves rush in and shoot back upward like a small sea geyser. The water forces its way into the cavities and is thrown out again with force: the sound is constant and watching it up close is hypnotic. That said, the sea here is unpredictable and calls for caution.
