In the centre of Gran Canaria, at 1,813 metres, rises one of the island’s most famous rocks. A Natural Monument and Natural Park, this imposing volcanic rock is the true symbol of Gran Canaria, visible from many points.

How to get there
The easiest starting point is the Llanos de la Pez car park, along a moderate trail of about an hour and a half. Alternatively, the bus drops you near the trailhead, about a 30-minute walk away.
Important: since 3 February 2025, a prior booking is required to visit Roque Nublo.
Good to know before you go
- Go at sunrise or sunset for the best light
- Wear hiking shoes: the ground is rocky and can be slippery
- Bring water and a snack: there are no bars or fountains (sometimes a stall at the trailhead sells local products)
- Don’t forget the camera
Roque Nublo lies along the Camino de Santiago of Gran Canaria, which crosses the island from south to north. Always check the weather and respect the natural surroundings.
