The Paseo de Meloneras runs west from the Maspalomas lighthouse, always at water level. It is not a viewpoint and not a beach: it is a promenade, with benches, terraces and a couple of sand-and-rock coves that drop to the sea. Which is exactly why it works so well at the end of the day, when driving anywhere has lost its appeal.

Good to know · If you come just for the sunset, park near the lighthouse and walk west: the horizon opens up as you go.
